Dinosaur Bookmark

Posted on: July 22, 2012

Do you always have your nose in a book? This little guy does too! This dinosaur makes the perfect companion for readers big and small because he’s always there to hold your page. Simply hook his head over a page to mark your spot for next time.

Things you will need:

  • The dinosaur template (Click the link for a PDF)
  • Green craft foam or thick scrapbooking paper
  • A pencil
  • Markers
  • Scissors

Step 1: Cut out the template and trace it onto a piece of craft foam or heavy paper.

Step 2: Carefully cut out the dinosaur.

Step 3: Use your markers to add details to the dinosaur including little circles on his feet, spots on his belly, an eye and a smile. Another option is to use a googly eye instead of drawing an eye in.

Congratulations! You have made a dinosaur bookmark perfect for holding your place while you read. Did you do this project? How did it turn out? Please feel free to share your comments and photos in the comments section. Happy crafting!

This is so cute. I may have to make some of these for my classroom. Thank you!

Thank you so much for the compliment! Please let me know how they turn out if you decide to make them! I am thinking of testing out some other animals as well such a swans, snakes and other animals with long necks. Stay tuned. 🙂

Emily,
LOVE your blog! Your crafts ideas can even be used for people who aren’t moms or teachers. I personally enjoy doing crafts and I will definetly use this Happy Birthday sign idea for my friend’s birthday celebration.
Looking forward to reading more of your posts!

Thank you so much for the compliment! While I primarily gear my projects towards children, I also try and make them accessible and interesting to all ages and demographics. If you make the birthday sign please let me know how it turns out. Happy crafting!
